Bharat Kumar Jog is promoted as new Director General-Telecom

Bharat Kumar Jog is promoted as new Director General-TelecomDepartment of Telecommunications (DoT) official Bharat Kumar Jog has been promoted to the position of Director General (Telecom), effective from May 14, 2021.

“The President is pleased to promote Bharat Kumar Jog, an officer of HAG+ (Advisor Grade) of ITS Group ‘A’ to the grade of Director General (Telecom) of ITS Group ‘A’ in the Apex Scale of level 17 (Rs 2, 25000/-) w.e.f. from 14.05.2021 or the date of assumption of charge whichever is earlier,” according to a DoT notification dated May 13, 2021.

Additionally, Jog will continue to hold the charge of the post of Member (S) of Digital Communications, it said.

This comes close on the heels of DoT Advisor K Ramchand’s voluntary retirement on May 13, following which Tushar Kanti Paul, a 1982-batch Indian Telecommunications Services (ITS) Group - A officer will take charge as the new advisor - Technology at the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
